Industrial Ethernet Switch

In industrial communication, networks must meet the special requirements of the industrial environment. ICPDAS Industrial Ethernet Switches are ideally suited for the establishment of an Ethernet network, enabling smooth data traffic.
The transmission speeds in the Ethernet network are 10Mbit/s, 100 Mbit/s (Fast Ethernet) and 1000Mbit/s (Gigabit Ethernet). There are a number of standards for Ethernet, all of which are specified in IEEE standard 802.3.

Ethernet switches by category:
Unmanaged   Managed   Redundant Ring   Power over Ethernet (PoE)

Industrial Ethernet Switches from ICPDAS

The special requirements of an industrial communication network are not only fast and seamless data exchange but also reliability. Industrial Ethernet Switches from ICPDAS ensure this via redundant ring technology. Additional features such as Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) and management functions offer additional added value.
Specifications for industrial use:
  • Compact plastic or metal housing
  • Overvoltage protection
  • Wide input voltage range up to 9-48VDC
  • Mounting for DIN rail and wall
  • Temperature range between -25 °C ~ +75 °C
  • Protection class up to IP67
  • Insensitive to high-frequency interference
Our broad product portfolio of Industrial Ethernet Switches offers you the right switch for every application. We would be pleased to advise you personally on the selection.

Unmanaged Industrial Ethernet Switch

With our unmanaged Ethernet switches, you can quickly and cost-efficiently set up an Industrial Ethernet network. The Ethernet switches are immediately ready for operation via plug-and-play. The LEDs on the housing provide a quick overview of the status of network communication at all times. The unmanaged Industrial Ethernet switches are typically used in smaller networks that do not require management functions. Easy to use, robust, for industrial purposes and with 5 to 16 ports, the unmanaged switches are an inexpensive and durable solution.

Managed Industrial Ethernet Switch

Managed Ethernet switches offer comprehensive configuration options and are often used in large networks. They provide IT administrators with comprehensive control functions that enable them to achieve optimal network performance and reliability. The Industrial Ethernet Switch can be set up via the RS-232 port or via Ethernet using Telnet or a web browser.
Specifications of Managed Ethernet Switches:
  • 6 to 24 LAN ports
  • 2 to 24 Gigabit ports
  • SNMP monitoring via SNMP
  • Turning individual ports on/off and detecting the cable assignment (Auto MDI/MDI-X)
  • Bandwidth allocation and duplex operation per port
  • IP address management
  • Filters for MAC addresses
  • spanning tree
  • Port mirroring for network traffic monitoring
  • Quality of Service (QoS)
  • VLAN settings
  • 802.1X Network Access Control
  • IGMP snooping for bandwidth-saving image transmission
  • Link Aggregation or Port Trunking
Layer 2 switches work with Data-Link Layer Addresses (MAC). They are very fast in data transfer because they only sort data packets by MAC addresses.

Industrial Fiber Switch

When it comes to overcoming long distances at high speed, communication via fiber optics (BASE-F) has clear advantages compared to copper cables (BASE-T). With a fiber port switch, the range of an Ethernet network can be considerably increased via fiber optics. A further advantage of Ethernet switches with fiber port is the strong industrial environment. Communication via fiber optic cables is less susceptible to temperature fluctuations and cannot be affected by electromagnetic interference.

Redundant Ring Ethernet Switch for real-time applications

Redundant ring switches enable reliable communication in the Ethernet network. Due to the ring topology, each Redundant Ring Switch can be accessed via two routes. If a switch in the ring breaks or fails, the connection is immediately established via the second way. This results in a simple and fast redundancy solution. In the event of a power supply failure or a network connection failure to the end device, warning signals can be triggered via a relay output, for example.
