CONVERTERS

Fieldbus Converters-Gateways

Fieldbus is an industrial network system for real-time distributed control. It is a way to connect instruments in a manufacturing plant. Fieldbus works on a network structure which typically allows daisy-chain, star, ring, branch, and tree network topologies with many major advantages to all applications of automation. We offer fieldbus products with different protocols for industrial applications. Converters and Gateways helps to connect different devices or fieldbusses together.
  • SERIAL

    RS-232/422/485 Converters

Most industrial computer systems provide standard RS-232 serial ports. Though widely accepted, RS-232 has limited transmission speed, range, and networking capabilities. The RS-422 and RS-485 standards overcome these limitations.

Serial Fieldbus Converters also offer the possibility to protect a RS-232 device or a RS-422/485 network from overvoltage due to any other network part. The use of this converter is Plug and Play, that's why there is no need to change any hardware or software. Fieldbus Converters enable to assign a network address to a RS-232 device and thus decrease the network load. Finally, the managed interface converters of the l-752x-Series allow to easily integrate a RS-232 interface as a managed participant in a RS-485 network.

  • USB

    RS-232/422/485 to USB Adapters

The USB Converter is a cost-effective module for transferring serial data via USB. It allows you to connect your serial devices to any system which is equipped with a USB Port. When connecting the USB Converter to a PC, an RS-232/422/485 port is automatically added. The USB Converter does not require any external power supply: it is directly powered by the USB port.

  • FIBER

    RS-232/422/485 to Fiber Optic Adapters

Fiber optic converters provide safe data transmission over long distances for RS-232 or RS-485 signals, as fiber is the most efficient media against EMI/RFI interferences. Both singlemode (SC connector) and multimode (ST connector) solutions are available.

  • CAN

    CAN bus Converters

CAN (Controller Area Network) is a serial bus system especially suited to structure intelligent industry devices networks and build smart automatic control systems. It has become popular in the automative and production field due to the high real time capability. The CAN converters shown in this selection allow the integration

, regardless of the communication protocol, of devices having an RS-232, an RS-485, an RS-422, an Ethernet, a Wifi, a USB or a fiber interface into a CAN network. With the gateways, it becomes no longer required to implement a protocol conversion code, as this is already achieved by the gateway. Hence, it is possible to make work together devices with Modbus RTU or Modbus TCP communication protocol, with CANopen, DeviceNet or J1939 CAN devices.

  • ETHERNET IP

    Ethernet IP Gateways

The GW-7472 (EtherNet/IP adapter to Modbus RTU Master/TCP Client Gateway) is helpful for data-exchanging between the Modbus RTU/TCP network, and the EtherNet/IP network. It reads the register data from the Modbus RTU slaves as well as Modbus TCP servers and publishes these data to the input register data of the EtherNet/IP scanner.

The output data transmitted by the EtherNet/IP scanner are updated to the register data of Modbus RTU slaves/TCP servers via the GW-7472. Through the GW-7472, all of the Modbus slaves/servers can be regarded as one EtherNet/IP adapter.

  • BACNET

    Bacnet Gateways

Our offer comprises two BACnet to Modbus gateways. GW-5492 is provided with a serial interface, supports the Modbus RTU Master. It will allow the integration of a Modbus RTU Slave into a BACnet network. GW-5493 supports in addition the MODBUS TCP client. BACnet is a communications protocol for building automation and control networks.

It is an ASHRAE, ANSI, and ISO standard protocol. BACnet was designed to allow communication of building automation and control systems for applications such as heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning control, lighting control, access control, and fire detection systems and their associated equipment. The BACnet protocol provides mechanisms for computerized building automation devices to exchange information, regardless of the particular building service they perform.
